AACSB Accreditation
Why is it important when choosing the right business school?
AACSB International accreditation speaks to a program’s quality.
Accreditation by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—is the highest standard of achievement for business schools around the world.
Accreditation confirms that a school is committed to quality and continuous improvement through a meticulous and comprehensive peer review process. Less than one-third of business schools in the U.S., and only 15% worldwide, meet the rigorous standards of AACSB International accreditation.
The Wayne State University School of Business Administration holds AACSB accreditation for each of its bachelor and master degree programs.
Many highly-advertised business programs do not hold AACSB accreditation. Do your homework when looking at schools to make sure your program is AACSB accredited. Wayne State offers accredited programs at an exceptional value when compared to the cost of other programs, both accredited and non-accredited.
AACSB International accreditation gives value to your degree.
A degree from an AACSB accredited institution gives return on your educational investment by providing a competitive advantage in the business world. Employers want the best talent, managers and future leaders, and they know that graduates from an AACSB accredited institution are prepared to succeed in the business world. AACSB is an international accrediting organization, so you can be assured that this distinction is recognized worldwide.

A few more points to keep in mind about AACSB accreditation:
Membership in AACSB International is NOT the same as accreditation.
AACSB membership only requires payment of annual dues and accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). While Wayne State does hold NCA accreditation, schools of all levels—including elementary—can receive NCA accreditation. It does not have the same prestige as AACSB accreditation.
AACSB International accreditation demands a superior faculty, supporting high-caliber teaching and meaningful interaction between students and faculty.
The AACSB peer review process, which includes deans of some of the world’s most prestigious business schools, ensures that programs are current, provide relevant knowledge, and reflect an understanding of today’s complex business environment.
