Support for the SBA
We are embarking on the next great step for the School of Business Administration.
The new, five-story, steel-framed business school will provide the space and technological capabilities supportive of our innovative programs and research. For the first time, all business classes will be held in one location which will strengthen the interaction among students and between students and faculty. Our location will also serve as the cornerstone of the Wayne State University and become its northern gateway at Woodward and Palmer.
The modern look of the new school reflects our mission, which has gone from a regional to a world perspective. Our curriculum must prepare students to compete in the ever-growing global economy.
One of the most exciting aspects of this university is the diversity of the student body and of the faculty. Our cultural environment enriches our classes and prepares our students to operate more confidently in a global situation.
With our eye on the world, however, we can never lose sight of our family of supporters who make our ideas possible.
We are very fortunate to have a range of support at all giving levels from our alumni, faculty and friends.
While corporate and foundation contributions are much appreciated, the majority of gifts come from individuals.
- Alumni giving to the School of Business Administration has increased 148 percent from October, 2005 to March 2006.
- Faculty and staff of the SA topped all other schools at WSU in their participation for the campaign last year. This year they have already increased their financial support by 43 percent.
- Business and corporations are helping us break new ground, like Ford Motor Company, whose generous gift enables SBA students to learn in a new state-of-the-art Case Room.
I encourage all of you to become part of our growing family of contributors who are making our vision a reality. Every contribution is appreciated. For those who need and easy plan, we are suggesting a pledge of $20 a month, for five years, that will greatly further our cause. To have your name included in the Donor Recognition area of the new building, we are suggesting a plan of $500 a year, for three years, that will total $1,500.
Whatever you decide, we look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Thank you for your support.
